Ideal conditions last Saturday 13th May with gentle breezes and sunshine; a great opportunity for sailing upriver towards Gentle Jane and practising gybing, tacking and capsize drills, the latter being very popular!
Perfect weather conditions for an after-school sailing lesson. Lucky Wadebridge secondary school students!
Easter Saturday morning saw the return of CEYS street collection outside Newslines newsagents and Barnecutts bakery. Pictured are Tim and Fiona Lunt, along withtheir daughter-in-law. Thanks to very generous shoppers and the use of our new card readers, we raised almost £800 ! A brilliant total for a morning's collecting. Many thanks to everyone for donating.
The Ceys committee are thrilled to hear that Sylvie and Jess, who learnt to sail with CEYS, have been selected onto the South West regional training group for the RS Feva class, a pathway to the GB team.
They told us: “We both fell in love with sailing aged 8 when we did the CEYS course and subsequently racing at both the Junior Camel Week and Camel Race week. We are so excited to have been accepted onto this training group and none of this would have been possible without CEYS. We are now hoping to gain sponsorship from businesses to help fund the kit and travel costs we need to attend monthly training and events.” You can follow the girls’ journey on Instagram @jessandsylviesailing
